Ten thousand years ago, a great war raged across the galaxy, between the traitorous Solano’s amassed forces, and the combined strength of the Space Forces and the Knights of the Ri’shan. Solano was once a loyal subject to the King of Ri’shan, but this was a calculated act, to get his hands on one of the universe’s greatest powers: the Chaos Gate.
It was said that the Gate was a transport to the inner workings of the universe itself, and had been used to plant the seeds of many different races, but this is only conjecture that the Ri’shan themselves could answer. Nevertheless, they sealed the Gate, appointing six Guardians to watch over it and pass the responsibility through the generations. When a man called Solano became one of the Guardians of this awesome power, he wanted to go through the Gate, and gain more power for the mighty Ri’shan. It was his belief that they Ri’shan were a higher form of life than the rest of the galaxy, and thus everyone else should follow their example, and even tried showing the other Guardians to the ‘proper path’. The other Guardians would not sway, however, and voiced their concerns to the King, who ordered Solano imprisoned for a short period.
Not one to simply give up, Solano schemed and plotted from his prison as well as after his release, amassing an army of thugs and murderers from the underbelly of the Galaxy, and made a coup attempt on the King when he saw the proper time. However the great power of the Ri’shan proved extremely resilient, and the remaining six Guardians fought to save their way of life, with the King’s own daughter Korrina, a Guardian herself, going into hiding so that Solano would not have the ability to open the Gate.
Those loyal to the crown fought on, eventually defeating Solano’s forces at last, stripping him of his powers and exiling the madman and all left alive who were loyal to him on a desolate world in the uncharted reaches of the galaxy, consigning them all to a grim, eventual death. However, though the threat to the galaxy was gone, Princess Korrina foresaw Solano’s descendant returning to wreak havoc in his ancestor’s name, and stayed on the planet she’d hidden on, her final communication with her homeworld, assuring them that she would do her duty, and carry on teaching her children of her task, and that her descendant would be ready to face the new threat when the time came.
The other Guardians agreed to do the same, scattering to the cosmic winds, with only one remaining on Ri’shan itself. The King decreed that the Princess’s world would be monitored once every ten standard years, to ensure that at least two of the Guardians of the Gate could be found, to seek the others, if the need ever arose…
Okay, so I've now disabled the auto-pruning that deleted the original thread as well as the VIP threads, which I'll repost. Yeah, I know I'm a moron. |
