There's plenty of ways to get the information to those who need to see it, through go-betweens, secure communications, etc.... _________________ Vulcans are SPACE ELVES~!!!! |

Do they punish the families of traitors? Yes, but most often it's just a public shunning, the family usually has to leave the community, and aren't terribly welcomed in other communities, so some choose to go offworld. _________________ Vulcans are SPACE ELVES~!!!! |

Okay, so new thought: the Te-Nari originated as a tribal free-for-all, or the strongest rules. One generation, a tyrant basically united all tribes under an empire, he claimed to be the avatar of Nari-tu, the Te-Nari patron goddess/mother earth, etc. (The name Te-Nari translates as "children of Nari") In reality, this tyrant had begun to unlock the mental/ki potential most races possess, and imposed his own world view in her name.
Now this tyrant's line lasted for awhile, until finally, a Ri'shan, that generation's Guardian of Mind, stepped in and helped to overthrow this empire. The Te-Nari were pleased/impressed to discover such honor and nobility in an outsider, and wanted to learn from the Ri'shan. The Guardian knew a monarchy wouldn't be much different than what they'd had, so she persuaded them to have elected representatives of each clan be included in making decisions. The Te-Nari became the Ri'shan's welcome allies...
(I'm really just getting this out so I remember, it's late and my brain's turkey-fried, I'll hammer out the details tomorrow or somesuch)
(This feels just a bit better for a cat race. Cats are more independent on average, so it didn't seem right that such a race would devote themselves to the Ri'shan. Allies make a little more sense than servants and all.. I can see the Te-Nari having a standard of honor, though, which makes sense, so that those who don't give a damn are shunned and tend to roam the stars...)
Bring on the questions/comments/concerns!~ _________________ Vulcans are SPACE ELVES~!!!! |

Warriors
The Te-Nari Warrior is a formidable opponent, no matter what species you're facing. All have their own unique fighting styles, but the most known are the strongest of all, and more often than not, become Warriors, honing their skills to defend their homeworld or go off to fight somewhere.
While their species style is taught from the time they can walk, a Warrior's skills are learned over a decade of grueling training, where they learn to surpass their bodies' limits, much as the tyrant did, and control their ki.
Skills:
-Ki use
-Minor medical knowledge
-High to advanced strength (depends on species)
-moderate to advanced speed (species dependant)
-High weapons knowledge
-Moderate to advanced tactics/strategy knowledge (rank/duty dependant)
While they can control their ki, they prefer to use it only to enhance their abilities, not as attacks unto themselves. The more physical Te-Nari believe there is a spiritual connection between the killer and the killed in the physical contact, so projectile weapons and techniques are frowned upon. However, this is not an all-encompassing trend, as the physically weaker, more pragmatic species will opt to use any means necessary.
Thus, many Te-Nari warriors use melee weapons, primarily using blades, the thought being they are extensions of the user's fang and claw.
No matter the species, Te-Nari warriors will not use unscrupulous means to win an engagement, they hold honor very highly, and this is a problem when fighting a desparate humanoid, for example, who will do whatever it takes.
Will be added onto as needed. _________________ Vulcans are SPACE ELVES~!!!! |

Assassin
more subtle, using that cat stealth ^^...maybe corner the target to give them a chance for an honorable death/fight (or play cat and mouse, )
ki use, though more about control than the warrior's, advanced medical knowledge
possibly forgiven by priests for dishonorable killings...
To be refined... _________________ Vulcans are SPACE ELVES~!!!! |
